WHAT OUR VISITORS SAY:

We have had a wonderful week, rowing and swimming on the lake, climbing up the rocks and scrambling through the heather, kayaking at Kenmare and visiting Greg and Helen to fetch delicious vegetables, eggs and chicken. And each day we came back to your lovely house and sat in your beautiful garden. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we hope to see you again one day.

Michael and Julie from the Uk September 2010

Our time was too short at this beautiful place. Thank you Gerry.

Dear Gerry. Thanks so much for having us in your wonderful cottage. We really appreciated your kindness and the delicious home produce. As you will find, we enjoyed most of it. Staying at Inchimore Farm was an absolute delight.

Theo, Denny, Christian, Woody, George and Jimmy from Holland, June 2011

Dear Gerry. We really enjoyed the house and scenic views. The children in particular (Patrick) were very impressed with all the pieces you have collected and displayed throughout the house. They even managed to catch a few tadpoles! We really had a lovely time here together.

Regina and family from Skerries, July 2011

Dear Gerry. What a glorious place to live. A real piece of Ireland. Flora/ fauna are amazing. The walks down to the river and amongst the mountains are spectacular. It has been a perfect break for us, a rural retreat plus all the mod cons. It was lovely - thank you.

Maddy and Family, Cambridge, England

Dear Gerry. Thank you very much for the lovely stay in Inchimore. We spent a peaceful week in this wonderful environment.

Famille Létang-Mathieu and Famille Trocaz-Hesse from France August 2011

Thank you very much Gerry for giving up your lovely house. We have had such a lovely time her exploring the hills and gazing at the beautiful views over breakfast. And you are quite right, the waterfalls expand hugely after rain - fascinating! And the lamb was the best ever.

Heslop-Sekules Family, Norfolk, England August 2011

Gerry, we thank you so much for letting us experience this lovely location. Your farm house is superbly equipped for any family staying. Your kindness will be remembered by us all, and we hope that one day in the near future we can return and do it all again. Love from us all.

The approach to Inchimore Farm Next Photo

The exact date when the stone farmhouse was built has been lost, but at least a hundred years ago. If you talk to most of the men in their forties in the village they used to work here as boys. It was a thriving farm with cattle and sheep but gradually fell into disuse as the owners became too old and infirm to keep it going.

About 25 years ago the whole of the top end of the valley (1000 acres in all) was bought by an American called Fuzzy, who fell in love with the area. He modernised and improved both houses, putting in modern bathrooms and a huge kitchen extension at Inchimore. He installed a pipeline from the lake which gives a constant and totally reliable source of water. He and his extended family only visited for a few days each year, so the whole area became an unspoilt paradise for plants and animals. Maybe it was the pull of our ancestry, but in June 2004 we visited County Kerry and, like Fuzzy, fell in love with the valley - the space, the magnificent mountains, the huge expanse of sky and especially the unceasing variety of colours. We are very fortunate to have this on our doorstep and would like to share it with you.
